OFF THE LINE! Zouma gets back superbly to deny Charlie Austin an equaliser. It looked an almost certain goal. Van Dijk wins the initial header, Gabbiadini pounces and knocks it past Butland but Zouma is there to clear it off the line. Southampton are pushing hard.
90'
There will be a minimum of five minutes of added time played here.

Final Southampton substitution as Mario Lemina comes off and he is replaced by Charlie Austin.

P. Crouch has scored a goal for Stoke City! Assist by E. Choupo-Moting.
Choupo-Moting kept the ball alive and managed to lay the ball off to Crouch who poked the ball into the back of the net, just when Southampton looked like they may go on and win the game.
GOOOOAAALLL! STOKE LEAD! Peter Crouch is the man with the goal, a simple tap-in from just a yard out after a goalmouth scramble in the penalty area. Saints failed to clear the ball after a mistake by Soares to allow Shaqiri in. They then have a penalty appeal turned down after a challenge on Allen by Romeu. It then broke to Choupo-Moting after a goalmouth scramble and he poked it towards Crouch, who helped it over the line.
84'
CLOSE! Yoshida is once again the man close to scoring for Southampton, the ball in was excellent and Yoshida was sliding in at the far post, but his effort goes narrowly wide of the goal with Butland scrambling across.
83'
Free-kick to Southampton in a good position and the opportunity to put the ball into the box, after Pieters bundles over Tadic around 35 yards from goal. The left-back is protesting his innocence but it looked a clear foul. Soares to whip the ball in...

Description
80'
As we enter the final 10 minutes of the game here at the Bet365 Stadium, it's all Southampton now and they are looking dominate here, can they make it count and go on and grab a winning goal?
78'
A much needed goal from Southampton, they have lacked goals this season and when you are struggling to score you don't mind where it comes from, today it was the unlikely source of Maya Yoshida. They haven't created too much today, but will be grateful to be back level with not much time left on the clock.
75'
M. Yoshida has scored a goal for Southampton! Assist by S. Long.
Not sure he meant it, but Long stuck out a leg and flicked Boufal's cross on and his teammate did the rest with style.
GOOOAAALLL! SAINTS ARE LEVEL! Yoshida with a tremendous volley deep in the Stoke penalty area, a great strike which cannons off the crossbar and into the back of the net. Long flicked the cross into the box on and it feel perfectly into the path of Yoshida who showed great athletisism to produce a fantastic volley which left Butland with no chance.
74'
This is all fairly comfortable for Stoke. Most of the Saints play is in front of their midfield and they are simply moving across the pitch in their tight formation, denying their opponents any space to exploit.
72'
Excellent build-up play by Long and Soares down the right wing, they have done well today for the Saints. Soares then plays the ball off to Lemina on the edge of the box, who fires a wild effort high over the crossbar. Butland hasn't had much to do in the second half, despite a lot of possession for the visitors.
70'
P. Crouch enters the game and replaces S. Berahino.
Now it is Stoke who make their first substitution of the game, with Saido Berahino the man making way and he is replaced by Peter Crouch.
67'
M. Gabbiadini enters the game and replaces N. Redmond.
Southampton make their second change of the game with Nathan Redmond coming off and he is replaced by Manolo Gabbiadini. The striker scored four goals in his first three Premier League games but has managed just one more in his subsequent 14 outings.
65'
STAT: Southampton have lost 11 league games in 2017 - as many as they lost in 2016, with 15 matches still to play.
63'
Southampton are enjoying the majority of possession here, but a lot of it is in their own half or in the middle of the pitch and the Saints are struggling to create any sustained pressure in the final third. When they do try and put the ball in the box, they only have Long to aim for and up against three centre-backs, they are asking a lot.
61'
S. Boufal enters the game and replaces S. Davis.
Southampton make the first substitution of the game with skipper Steven Davis the man coming off and he is replaced by Sofiane Boufal. The captain's armband has been handed to Yoshida.
58'
Another decent opportunity for Long! Another great cross from Soares, twisting and turning to beat Pieters and whip the ball into the box, which is met by Long but this time he is under much more pressure and again his header doesn't trouble Butland.
56'
Oriol Romeu gets yellow.
Romeu is shown a yellow card for pulling Shaqiri back as the Stoke man tried to break on the counter-attack. No complaints for the Saints midfielder.
54'
CHANCE SAINTS! Long meets Soares' cross into the box, he rises highest and despite being under no pressure he powers his header over the crossbar. Bit of a let off for Stoke, but another opportunity missed by Southampton who have failed to score in five of their seven games in all competitions this season.
52'
D. Tadić gets yellow.
Dušan Tadić is the first Southampton player to be shown a yellow card, the playmaker first gave away a sloppy free-kick and then just seconds later he produced a worse challenge, and the referee had no choice but to show him a yellow.
51'
STAT: Mark Hughes' side have only won three of their last 16 Premier League games, losing nine. They are winless in five league and cup games, losing their last three.
49'
CHANCE STOKE! Shaqiri whips a great low cross into the box with a few Stoke players looking to get on the end of it, however it deflects off Romeu and forces Forster into making a good save from his own player!
48'
Long clatters into Allen and that's a free-kick to Stoke, but it looks like Long has hurt himself in the challenge, it seems to be a knee problem and he is down receiving medical treatment at the moment.
46'
The second half is underway!
45' +3
That's the half-time whistle!
45'
There will be a minimum of three minutes of added time played here.
43'
Penalty saved by F. Forster!
PENALTY MISSED! Berahino hasn't scored in such a long time and his wait continues after a poor penalty effort there, it wasn't far enough in the corner and at a good height for Forster who pulls off a good stop.
PENALTY SAVED! Forster reads the spot-kick and produces a fine save to deny Berahino and spare his defenders blushes. The keeper also saved a James Milner penalty earlier in the season to earn Saints a 0-0 draw at Anfield.
42'
PENALTY STOKE! Van Dijk has been great today but this is a poor decision by the centre-back, it looks soft one but Berahino goes down after a shirt tug in the penalty area.
40'
M. Diouf has scored a goal for Stoke City! Assist by X. Shaqiri.
It was an excellent ball into the box by Xherdan Shaqiri, slightly behind Diouf who had to slightly change his run before powering the headaer into the back of the net.
GOOOAAALLL! STOKE LEAD! Diouf with a superb header from a Shaqiri corner! It was poor defending from Southampton, Diouf had no one near him and the winger stooped and perfectly powered the ball past Forster who had no chance of saving it. There was plenty of Saints defenders in there but sloppy marking allowed Diouf to give Stoke the lead just before the break.
38'
Great tackle! What a tremendous challenge by Van Dijk, right on the edge of the penalty area to steal the ball off Joe Allen who was just about to unleash a shot at goal. The midfielder could and should have taken the shot earlier, delaying the shot gave Van Dijk time to get back and make the tackle.
36'
Stoke manage to counter through Pieters after Soares is caught of position down the right flank, the Saints right-back tracks back and needlessly bundles over Pieters near the corner flag. However, the set piece into the box is poor as Long meets it and clears the danger.
35'
This game is very open and could go either way at the moment, plenty of fast football but both teams are being wasteful in possession after getting themselves into good positions to start off with.
32'
We have a stoppage in play here as Diouf stayed down after a coming together with Tadic, he looks to be holding his shoulder, it looks like he will be fine to continue here.
30'
J. Allen gets yellow.
Joe Allen is shown the first yellow card of the game for a late challenge of Tadic.
GOOD SAVE! Forster keeps the scoreline level again! The referee plays a good advantage to allow the Potters to break and Choupo-Moting bursts through the defence, turning Yoshida and testing Forster. A good stop to his right, forcing the ball wide.
27'
Southampton look in control of this game at the moment, Romeu is starting to get on the ball more and direct the play for the Saints. However another good opportunity ends with a poor cross from Bertrand, giving Long no chance.
25'
STAT: The Saints have failed to score in 10 of their last 14 league games and found the net just twice in seven matches in all competitions in 2017-18.
24'
CHANCE SOUTHAMPTON! Long forces Butland into making a great save to deny the Saints striker from close range. Everyone in the ground thought that Long was offside but the officials do well and he beats the offside trap, but Butland was quick off his line to deny the Ireland international who perhaps should've done better with that chance.
22'
GREAT CHANCE! Brilliant play by the Potters to create this opportunity. Choupo-Moting holds up the ball in the box and slides a fantastic pass for Allen, who looks for Shaqiri on the cut-back from the byline. However, Bertrand was alert to the danger and manages to clear the ball before Shaqiri can get to the ball.
20'
Southampton are certainly the side on top at the moment but their final ball keeps letting them down. Soares is getting forward at every opportunity down the right flank, but his cross into the box looking for Shane Long is poor and flies out for a goal-kick.
18'
CHANCE SAINTS! Nathan Redmond with a great opportunity to give the visitors the lead, it was a good through ball by Tadic and Redmond raced onto the ball and only has Butland to beat. But under pressure he can only poke the ball wide, poor effort in the end and he should have done better there.
17'
STAT: The Potters have scored only one first-half league goal so far, Choupo-Moting's first strike in the 2-2 home draw against Manchester United.
15'
CHANCE STOKE! Shaqiri forces Fraser Forster into making a very good save. The winger cut onto his favoured left foot inside the box, smashes a powerful shot at goal which Forster did well to save, the rebound then falls straight to the feet of Diouf, but he takes too long on the ball and Lemina slides across to block his shot.
13'
Head-to-head: Stoke have won three of their last five matches against Southampton, losing just one. Peter Crouch scored the only goal as Stoke won 1-0 when the sides last met in May.
11'
It is now the turn of the visitors to enjoy a good spell of possession and look the better team after that half-chance for Tadic. Just look short of ideas when they get into the final third.
8'
Chance for the visitors! Southampton come to life for the first time as cedric Soares finds Dusan Tadic with a lovely early ball over the top of the Stoke defence. The Saints man tries to lob Jack Butland, but his effort his poor and goes well wide.
5'
Stoke have been the better side in the very early stages, all the play is in Southampton's defensive third, looking to score an early goal to get the home supporters off their feet.
2'
Chance early on for Stoke! A positive run early on by Choupo-Moting has Van Dijk on the back foot but the Saints defender does well to block the shot and the Potters win themselves an early corner-kick. The resulting corner eventually falls to Joe Allen on the edge of the box, but his effort goes well over the crossbar.

Mauricio Pellegrino's side failed to score for the fourth time in six league games as they were beaten 1-0 by Manchester United last Saturday. The Saints occupy 11th spot, with eight points to their name.
Stoke slumped to a 4-0 at home to defending champions Chelsea last time out, they now sit 16th on five points after six games. However, they face a Southampton side today now doing too well themselves and the Saints are struggling to get the ball in the back of the net.

An end-to-end first half comes to its conclusion and it is the Potters who lead one-nil thanks to Diouf's header late on in the half. Berahino had a chance from the penalty spot to double their lead just minutes later but his effort was poor and Forster made a good save to keep the defecit at just one goal. Saints have played well but are lacking the final touch, after getting themselves in some good positions on the pitch.
