90'
West Ham are just a few minutes of added time away from leapfrogging Bournemouth, Wolves and Watford into ninth.

M. Elyounoussi enters the game and replaces M. Lemina.
Norway international Elyounoussi is tasked with injecting some spark into a Southampton attack that has gone stale. Lemina makes way.

Minute
Description
76'
Fabianski produces an extremely agile save from Lemina's low effort, but Redmond was offside in the build-up anyway. Time is beginning to run thin for Southampton.
74'
West Ham's share of possession has dipped below 45 per cent. They've been unable to exert a sustained period of pressure since conceding the second in the 59th minute.
66'
M. Targett gets yellow.
Wing-back Targett becomes the first player into the book following a firm, late challenge on Antonio.
65'
Southampton's turn to look dangerous now. Targett, a factor all night on the left, whips in a low ball which is just beyond Long's reach.
62'
S. Long enters the game and replaces D. Ings.
Hasenhuttl responds to the deficit, withdrawing a frustrated Ings and introducing Long.
59'
Felipe Anderson has scored a goal for West Ham United! Assist by M. Antonio.
It was brilliant from Antonio to carry the ball at pace and keep his composure to spot Felipe Anderson streaking through the middle in support.
GOAL!!! The quickfire comeback is complete! West Ham win the ball on the edge of their own box following a Southampton corner, Antonio leads a rapid counter-attack and expertly picks out Felipe Anderson, who makes no mistake in a one-on-one. Breathtaking! Pellegrini's side lead 2-1.
58'
The action is coming thick and fast now as Fabianski flies to his left to push an Armstrong shot around the post.
57'
Carroll's first act is to take a wild swing at the ball that sees him only succeed in catching Romeu. The substitute is lucky to avoid a booking.
55'
A. Carroll enters the game and replaces G. Diangana.
Pellegrini, having seen his team fall behind moments ago, now seeks to build on that equaliser by introducing Carroll in place of Diangana.
53'
Felipe Anderson has scored a goal for West Ham United!
GOALLL!!! That's some response from West Ham! And who else but Felipe Anderson could supply such a classy equaliser? Yoshida's clearing header comes to the Brazilian just outside the area and he rifles an unerring drive into the bottom-left corner. It's 1-1 all of a sudden.
50'
N. Redmond has scored a goal for Southampton!
GOALLL!!! And what a madcap opener it is for Southampton! West Ham's defence stops, expecting Redmond to be flagged for offside. He's denied once at point-blank by Fabianski, who makes a second stop at Romeu's feet, but Redmond follows in and does enough to force the ball over the line ahead of the scrambling Ogbonna, albeit with much more than a hint of handball. Southampton lead 1-0.
49'
Ogbonna gets a toe in to stop Redmond from skipping past him on a counter-attack. The Italian defender has served his team well on his fourth league start of the season.
47'
Ings seems almost surprised when Targett drops an inviting cross in between West Ham's two central defenders. It skims off the striker's head and across the face of goal.
46'
Back underway and it's Southampton who get us started with the game still up for grabs at 0-0. No changes for either side.
45' +1
HALF-TIME: SOUTHAMPTON 0-0 WEST HAM
45'
Wide! Felipe Anderson releases Perez and it's worked inside to Snodgrass, who curls a left-footed shot around the left post. McCarthy watched it fly past without panic.
43'
Antonio's audacious shot fails to trouble to McCarthy, but Southampton appear the more prepared of the two sides to welcome half-time with the deadline yet to be broken.
40'
Rice makes another valuable interception close to his own box before Diangana's heavy touch brings an end to a promising breakaway.
38'
Ings looks pleadingly at the referee after going down under some slight contact from Diop as he attempted to meet Targett's cross. Nothing doing as the visitors sweep back upfield.
36'
Diangana should do better there. Antonio plays his team-mate in towards the byline, but the attacking midfielder dallies over a potential crossing opportunity and is robbed of the ball. West Ham do, however, now have a free-kick.
34'
Southampton's use of the ball has become rather sideways and sluggish. Redmond fleetingly looks to unlock the opposition with a quicker pass that Valery is unable to control.
31'
Things just aren't happening for Ings at the moment. He loses his footing on halfway and West Ham are again able to regain possession.
30'
Antonio is growing into the contest. He wins an important aerial duel with Targett in defence and then makes a nuisance of himself in attack, unleashing a blocked shot and threatening with a darting dribble into the area.
28'
We're approaching the 30-minute mark and it remains goalless between two fairly evenly matched teams. Ings and Perez have had the best of the opportunities.
26'
Strong defending from Rice to track back and snuff out a potential opening for Lemina. The young West Ham midfielder has an important role to play in front of the back-four.
24'
Felipe Anderson is next to try his luck. This attempt poses less of a threat, the Brazilian dragging harmlessly past the left post. Still, these are encouraging signs for the visitors.
21'
Lemina gets lucky with a pass into Redmond, he spreads it wide to Armstrong and the midfielder cuts in from the left with the intent to shoot, but the curling effort is well wide of Fabianski's left post.
19'
A good spell of West Ham possession ends with Snodgrass firing a long-range shot low and hard at McCarthy. The goalkeeper's handling needs to be clean and it is.
14'
Hasenhuttl appears to have instructed his players to attack Antonio at every opportunity and the natural winger isn't looking entirely comfortable at right-back. That could be a real source of joy for the Saints.
11'
Lemina produces a strong challenge and Southampton look to spring forward, but they're held up in midfield. The Hammers have managed to steady things just for a few minutes.
9'
West Ham win a corner which comes all the way through to Felipe Anderson, but he gets his body shape wrong and makes a mess of the shot. Southampton deal with Snodgrass' next delivery in tidier fashion.
3'
Chance! This is a bright start from the home side. Ings dances through a couple of challenges and pokes a shot the wrong side of the near post.
2'
Some nice early combination play from Southampton as Targett gets inside Antonio and squares for Redmond, who shoots straight at Fabianski from just outside the box.
1'
And we're underway! West Ham get it started at St Mary's.
Hello and welcome to our live text commentary of this Premier League clash between Southampton and West Ham!
The arrival of Ralph Hasenhuttl has injected fresh life into the Saints and they're searching for a third successive victory tonight following impressive triumphs at home to Arsenal and away to Huddersfield Town. Another three points at St Mary's and the relegation candidates will suddenly be two full matches clear of the drop zone. It would also see them equal the number of Premier League wins they managed throughout Mark Hughes' entire tenure.
For West Ham, a third consecutive away win would secure a hard-earned place in the top 10 at the halfway point of the season. The London club will need to rebound from the disappointing 2-0 defeat to Watford in order to make that a reality. Four straight wins prior to last week's slip-up suggests they have the necessary quality.
SOUTHAMPTON XI (3-4-2-1): Alex McCarthy; Jan Bednarek, Jannik Vestergaard, Maya Yoshida; Yan Valery, Oriol Romeu, Mario Lemina, Matt Targett; Stuart Armstrong, Nathan Redmond; Danny Ings.
SOUTHAMPTON SUBS: Angus Gunn, Jack Stephens, Kayne Ramsay, James Ward-Prowse, Mohamed Elyounoussi, Shane Long, Charlie Austin.
WEST HAM XI (4-2-3-1): Lukasz Fabianski; Michail Antonio, Issa Diop, Angelo Ogbonna, Aaron Cresswell; Declan Rice, Pedro Obiang; Grady Diangana, Robert Snodgrass, Felipe Anderson; Lucas Perez.
WEST HAM SUBS: Adrian, Conor Coventry, Arthur Masuaku, Xande Silva, Mark Noble, Andy Carroll.
We're just about set for kick-off with the players out on the pitch and taking their positions!
Plenty of endeavour but not quite the requisite quality in those opening 45 minutes. Southampton settled quickest and threatened early through Ings, who has faded as West Ham have come more into the game. Pellegrini's men finished the half in the ascendancy and should have gone ahead when Cresswell's pass found Perez in a good position.
Antonio has been a real positive for West Ham following a shaky start, while Rice is keeping the midfield together. The latter is locked in a good battle with Romeu, one of the Saints' better performers.
Southampton will find little comfort in an upcoming fixture list that includes Manchester City's visit on Sunday and a subsequent trip to Chelsea. West Ham, having now won five of six Premier League matches, are sure to fancy their chances of overcoming an out-of-sorts Burnley at Turf Moor in three days' time.
That concludes our coverage of a well-earned win for West Ham. Thanks for joining us and we hope to have your company again soon. Until then, goodbye!
