Kachunga gets flagged for offside as Huddersfield press close to the Saints box and that could be the last roll of the dice for the hosts.
90' +2
Mounie! Vestergaard gets his body in the way of the Terriers forward's strike on the edge of the box to stop it from getting within 15 yards of the goal.
90'
There will be five added minutes at the John Smith's Stadium. Is there anything left in the tank for Huddersfield to snatch a miracle?
88'
Save by Lossl! The free-kick is poor from the hosts and Southampton break down the other end. Obafemi goes one-on-one with the keeper but can't squeak his shot past the outstretched gloves.
86'
P. Højbjerg gets yellow.
Hojbjerg comes in late on Kongolo with a silly challenge and picks up a yellow card too. It means a ban for the Saints man, ensuring he will miss their Boxing Day clash with West Ham.
85'
Vestergaard comes up with the free-kick however from the set-piece and Huddersfield see another chance slip through their fingers.
84'
J. Stephens gets yellow.
Stephens brings down Kongolo out on the right wing of his own half and gets a booking for his efforts. Huddersfield win a corner from the free-kick too, with Bednarek seeing it out at the near-left post.
81'
C. Quaner enters the game and replaces I. Mbenza.
Huddersfield also make their final change, with Mbenza heading off and Quaner coming on.
79'
J. Stephens enters the game and replaces Y. Valery.
Saints make their last swap, with Valery giving way for Stephens.

Description
78'
Billing chips a ball into the Saints box looking for an attacker to run onto it. Instead, it only finds McCarthy, who claims comfortably.
76'
Kachunga! The Terriers substitute skies a shot over the crossbar from six yards out following a Huddersfield corner. Time is running out to find two goals for the hosts.
71'
M. Obafemi has scored a goal for Southampton! Assist by N. Redmond.
Redmond has enjoyed an exceptional game for Southampton and his sheer doggedness gave his side that goal there, as he refused to let Schindler rest and stole possession back from under his nose.
OBAFEMI FOR SOUTHAMPTON! 3-1! That could be it for the fairytale of a Huddersfield comeback as Saints add a third thanks to some terrible defence once more. Schindler allows Redmond to bully him off the ball close to the edge of the hosts' box and the forward simply cuts it back for the substitute, who controls with a first touch and then rolls it past Lossl into the bottom-left corner.
69'
M. Lemina enters the game and replaces S. Armstrong.
Southampton make another change, replacing Armstrong with Lemina.
68'
Fancy, free-flowing footwork from Pritchard allows Mbenza to launch a shot from outside the box, but a deflection prevents the latter from finding his mark. Pritchard tries his own luck a moment later too, and McCarthy saves this attempt cleanly.
65'
E. Kachunga enters the game and replaces J. Bacuna.
M. Obafemi enters the game and replaces D. Ings.
Southampton meanwhile make their first swap, replacing Ings with Obafemi.
Huddersfield make their second change of the game, bringing on Kachunga for Bacuna.
63'
M. Jørgensen gets yellow.
It's got a bit hot under the collar at the John Smith's Stadium all of a sudden. Jorgensen brings down Armstrong from the back and looks to step on the Southampton player in the aftermath, sparking an outcry from the visitors. It's just a yellow card for the Terriers man in the end though.
61'
McCarthy saves the follow-up from the corner now too, but takes an elbow to the head and stays down as a result. He gets up after a moment, able to continue - but there is an absolute shiner of a bruise forming on his eye. That could come into play as the game enters the last half-hour.
58'
P. Billing has scored a goal for Huddersfield Town! Assist by S. Mounié.
Mounie squared that pass to Billing as opposed to trying to force himself in on the right. That selflessness has paid dividends for his side, to give them some great hope that they can walk away with something from this game.
BILLING PULLS ONE BACK FOR HUDDERSFIELD! 2-1! It's a corker of a shot from the Terriers man, who launches an unexpected effort from distance that wrong-foots McCarthy and sends the keeper the wrong way as it is curled in. The hosts have a lifeline!
56'
Huddersfield are unable to make the set-piece stick however and a follow-up effort whistled in from outside the box goes straight to McCarthy's waiting gloves.
52'
Y. Valery gets yellow.
Valery now gets a booking, not for a foul, but for time-wasting instead.
51'
Huddersfield go on the attack now themselves, only to be flagged for offside after Durm's throughball finds Mbenza ahead of the Saints defence.
49'
The visitors create pressure from the corner and Hojbjerg sees another effort deflected after Redmond gets on the end of it and tries to redirect it closer to goal, instead putting it out for a goal-kick.
47'
Targett wrestles a shot now towards goal, with Hadergjonaj deflecting it out for a corner. Southampton already feel like they have Huddersfield roasting on the rack in these first few minutes back from the break.
46'
E. Durm enters the game and replaces C. Löwe.
We're back underway for the second half at the John Smith's Stadium. Can Huddersfield find a way back into this game and salvage a result or have Southampton got this early Christmas present all wrapped up?
Huddersfield have made one swap at the break, replacing Lowe with Durm.
45' +3
HALF-TIME: HUDDERSFIELD 0-2 SOUTHAMPTON
45'
There will be two added minutes in this first half.
42'
Penalty goal scored by D. Ings for Southampton!
INGS MAKES IT 2-0! It's a sedate strike, with the Saints man stuttering in the run-up before rolling it into the bottom-left corner as he sends Lossl the wrong way. The visitors are on top of the world in West Yorkshire.
41'
Penalty to Southampton! Ings creeps into the box and Jorgensen tries to take it away from the Saints forward as he squares it away, only to bring him down. Ings will take the spot-kick himself.
38'
Valery now fouls Lowe on the right edge of the box and Huddersfield pump a free-kick into the penalty area that Bednarek sees away with controlled precision.
36'
Vestergaard deals with the second effort cleanly this time and helps to force Huddersfield out of the Southampton box.
35'
Huddersfield win themselves a gutsy corner and they pick up a second set-piece in short order after Mounie's attempted header takes a deflection off Valery.
31'
Bacuna gets a talking to following a late challenge on Armstrong and avoids a card, perhaps fortunately. The Huddersfield man wasn't particularly pleased with the referee's choice to penalise him.
28'
Armstrong now gives Southampton a foothold near the Terriers box and terrifies the defence for a few brief moments before he goes down softly and the hosts get themselves out of danger.
26'
Hojbjerg! The Saints man launches a right-footed effort from outside the box that sails high and wide at the near-post, but Huddersfield once again are left looking scattershot around their own penalty area.
25'
This is a stronger passage of play from Huddersfield, who have looked the more lively overall across the field - if not the more clinical and dangerous when with the ball at their feet.
24'
The hosts come again with a booming long ball down the right wing that Mbenza latches onto after timing his run perfectly to stay on the right side of the offside flag. His square pass in finds only Saints defenders though, with little support frustrating the Terriers attack.
23'
Huddersfield do get into the Southampton box now, with a chain of headers that bounces the ball around the box. Jorgensen's last touch finds empty space near the right post though and skips away for a goal-kick.
21'
Better from the hosts, as Schindler snakes his way down the left flank and earns his side a corner. Bacuna plays short to Lowe however and a couple of misplaced passes later, Huddersfield's attack folds and Southampton come up with a throw-in.
15'
N. Redmond has scored a goal for Southampton! Assist by P. Højbjerg.
REDMOND FOR SOUTHAMPTON! 1-0! That is all too easy for the visitors as they take the lead inside the opening quarter-hour through some soft defence and a lovely finish. Hojbjerg spots Redmond running down the centre channel towards the Huddersfield box and lays on a lovely throughball that nutmegs Kongolo. The forward latches onto the ball and lifts it past Lossl with a lead-footed finish to bury it in the top-right corner. Great stuff from Saints, not so much from the Terriers.
Hojbjerg had a stroke of luck there, as Kongolo slipped trying to stop the pass and let it through his gaping legs - but that was awful work at the back from the hosts. They left the door wide open there.
13'
Hadergjonaj goes down on the touchline and falls awkwardly after challenging Targett for a high ball in the air, though Saints are able to continue as the Terriers defender is off the pitch.
11'
C. Löwe gets yellow.
Romeu comes in on Lowe, dribbling towards the Southampton box and the latter throws himself to the ground. It's simulation and the referee doesn't hesitate as he goes straight to his pocket for a yellow card to book the Huddersfield man.
9'
Valery looks to have picked up a knock in the events of that play and is forced to hobble to the touchline for further treatment.
8'
Chances for Southampton! On their first serious attack of the game, Targett spears a low cross in that Lossl spills, allowing Romeu to have a second crack at goal from just outside the box. The keeper makes a firmer collection this time, though the Terriers should be concerned how soft they were at the back there.
5'
The hosts are exerting the early pressure so far, but Huddersfield also seem to be lacking a keen finishing instinct in their opening exchanges.
3'
Lowe zips away down the left wing and squares a neat cross in, looking for Mbenza. The ball beats all however and finds its way to the right for Vestergaard to clear.
2'
Billing concedes an early, cheap foul in the opposition half as he goes up for a high ball and bowls over a Saints man with a flying arm.

We are underway in this Premier League clash between Huddersfield and Southampton!
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the 2018-19 Premier League as Huddersfield Town look to avoid five straight defeats on the bounce as they host Southampton at the John Smith's Stadium.
David Wagner's side sit one point above bottom-place Fulham and look set to be embroiled in a relegation battle for the rest of the season, unless they somehow undergo a significant turnaround in fortunes. Three points at the expense of the visiting Saints could prove to be vital in their attempts to avoid the drop to the Championship - can they deliver the goods in West Yorkshire to kick off a busy Christmas schedule?
Ralph Hasenhuttl's team will be looking to avoid their own dogfight around the bottom three and are only two points ahead of the Terriers, having hauled themselves in front thanks to a 3-2 win against Arsenal last time out. That victory has given a glimmer of hope to fans on the south coast - and a second win on the trot for the first time this season would surely be an excellent early present.
Subs: Collin Quaner, Jon Gorenc Stankovic, Erik Durm, Laurent Depoitre, Ben Hamer, Adama Diakhaby, Elias Kachunga.
SOUTHAMPTON (3-4-3): Alex McCarthy; Jan Bednarek, Maya Yoshida, Jannik Vestergaard; Yan Valery, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Oriol Romeu, Matt Targett; Stuart Armstrong, Danny Ings, Nathan Redmond.
Subs: Jack Stephens, Shane Long, Charlie Austin, Angus Gunn, Kayne Ramsay, Mario Lemina, Michael Obafemi.
HUDDERSFIELD TOWN (4-2-3-1): Jonas Lossl; Florent Hadergjonaj, Mathias Jorgensen, Christopher Schindler, Terence Kongolo; Juninho Bacuna, Philip Billing; Isaac Mbenza, Alex Pritchard, Chris Lowe; Steve Mounie.
The teams have emerged at the John Smith's Stadium and we're moments away from kick-off.
David Wagner might decide he needs to add some impetus after the break. How long will it be before he makes some changes?
A lovely strike from Nathan Redmond and a penalty for Danny Ings means that it's Southampton who are comfortably on top in West Yorkshire. Huddersfield have lacked the killer instinct in the final third to turn their chances into serious attempts - and their failure to cleanly contain their visitors at the back has seen them pay the price. It's a long way back for the Terriers now. At half-time, it's Huddersfield 0-2 Southampton.
Six points in two games has vastly turned the fortunes of Ralph Hasenhuttl's side around and they'll look to make it three wins in a row when they host West Ham on Boxing Day. Huddersfield meanwhile will try to arrest their losing run once more, against Manchester United. Until then however, thank you for joining us and have a very Merry Christmas!
