90' +1
Liverpool are being forced right back to the halfway line whenever they come forward here. There is just no space in the final third to work with. Chelsea are looking relatively comfortable as they approach a vital three points in their chase for a Champions League spot.
90'

D. Zappacosta enters the game and replaces V. Moses.
Alberto Moreno enters the game and replaces J. Milner.
Milner is replaced by Moreno for Liverpool's final throw of the dice.
Moses is replaced by Zappacosta for the final few minutes.
88'
CHANCE! Not far off, either. A cross from the right wing finds Solanke in the box, who generates plenty of power from near the penalty spot with his header. It loops just over the bar though with Courtois beaten.
87'
It is a backs to the wall job for Chelsea now. Liverpool have looked better in attack in these last 10 minutes but Chelsea are defending well.
86'
Willian enters the game and replaces E. Hazard.
The impressive Hazard goes off to a standing ovation from the home supporters. Willian is on to replace him.

Description
79'
Marcos Alonso gets yellow.
SHOT! Moses gets the better of Milner on the right and finds Alonso in space at the back post. The Chelsea wing-back catches the ball sweetly on the volley, which flies narrowly wide of the far post.
Alonso receives Chelsea's first yellow card of the game.
78'
Better from the Reds as they finally get the ball into the box. Salah tries to turn to shoot but Cahill does excellently to slide the ball away from him.
77'
Chelsea have everyone behind the ball now and look set to try and see out the 1-0 win. Liverpool have not looked threatening at all though.
74'
D. Solanke enters the game and replaces A. Robertson.
Robertson is replaced by Solanke. Liverpool have just over 15 minutes left to salvage something from this game.
Liverpool finally get behind this Chelsea defensive line, but Firmino's dangerous low cross from the byline is straight to a Chelsea defender. Better from the Reds but they will need to start getting bodies in the box if they are to find a goal here.
71'
Liverpool come forward again and again the final ball is poor. It is far too easy for Chelsea, who have not been tested at all. The Reds have yet to register a shot on target in this second half.
69'
Alonso's cross is poor and looks to be heading nowhere, but Robertson gets his head to it anyway to give the home side a corner, under no pressure at all.
67'
Klopp is looking furious and it is understandable as to why. Firmino spins away from his marker on the right wing and fires in a cross, but there is absolutely no one there to challenge for it and it is straight out of play for a goal kick.
66'
Liverpool get the ball over the Chelsea defence to Salah but he is quickly closed down and muscled off the ball. The Reds come forward again but a loose pass hands possession straight back to Chelsea.
63'
There are just under 30 minutes left to play here and the Premier League's second-highest scorers have not looked like finding the back of the net at all. Chelsea are defending in numbers and frustrating the visitors.
61'
Hazard is causing plenty of problems on that left-hand side and he is at it again, this time turning away from his defender to find Bakayoko on the edge of the box. The midfield tries a first-time shot but he can not generate the power to trouble Karius, who can collect comfortably.
59'
J. Henderson enters the game and replaces N. Clyne.
Clyne is replaced by Henderson for Liverpool's first change of the day.
57'
CHANCE! Incredible stuff by Hazard as he escapes three defenders and charges into the box. He rifles a low shot towards goal from a tight angle and it is parried out for a corner by Karius.
Rudiger looks to have doubled Chelsea's lead from the corner with a header at the near post, but the linesman flags for offside. Conte will be very happy with the shift his players have put in so far today, they have been the better team throughout.
55'
The corner comes to nothing and Liverpool can enjoy a spell of possession once more. The Reds are seeing plenty of the ball but are struggling to create anything with it, as another attack comes to a tame end with an overhit through ball rolling out of play for a goal kick.
54'
Alonso swings in a dangerous low cross and Robertson takes no chances, hammering it out for a corner kick.
51'
Poor from Alexander-Arnold once again. He has space on the right wing to cross but it is well overhit. Liverpool are looking a little toothless in the final third at the moment. Chelsea are in total control.
49'
A mistake by Hazard gives Liverpool the opportunity to come forward, but it is wasted by Alexander-Arnold, who blazes an ambitious effort high over the bar from around 35 yards out.
47'
CHANCE! Chelsea start the half on the front foot and Giroud wriggles away from a challenge on the edge of the box to find Moses in space on the right. The Chelsea winger unleashes a low shot towards the far corner but he can only direct it wide of the far post.
46'
Chelsea get the game back underway.
45' +2
Liverpool just can not find a way through this wall of blue shirts. Chelsea are defending so well at the moment.
45'
The fourth official has indicated two minutes of additional time.
43'
Liverpool try to come forward down the right wing again and again it is completely snuffed out by Chelsea. This has been a very impressive well-rounded performance by Antonio Conte's men.
40'
N. Clyne gets yellow.
Clyne is booked for a late lunging challenge on Alonso. Signs of frustration creeping into the Liverpool ranks here, they have been well contained by Chelsea so far.
39'
Mohamed Salah gets yellow.
Salah is booked for simulation as he goes to ground just outside the Chelsea box.
35'
CHANCE! Liverpool switch off defensively and Fabregas is in behind them. He tries to find the far corner from a very tight angle but he can only flash it wide of the far post. Chelsea are suddenly looking much more dangerous now.
32'
O. Giroud has scored a goal for Chelsea! Assist by V. Moses.
GOAL! Moses does well to create space for himself on the right of the box to cross. He finds Giroud on the edge of the six-yard box and the Frenchman glances his header into the far corner and well beyond Karius. Chelsea's top-four hopes have been given new life!
Moses turns away from Roberton to find Giroud with a cross, who heads Chelsea into the lead.
30'
CHANCE! Mane finds himself with space outside the Chelsea box once more, but this time his curling effort is palmed away by Courtois. It drops to Firmino inside the right of the box, who pulls the ball back towards Mane. The winger can only poke the ball straight at Courtois though.
25'
The corner is cleared but Liverpool continue to keep possession and maintain their pressure on this Chelsea back line. The Blues are very well organised though and are giving Klopp's men no space at all in the final third.
24'
Mane gets into space just outside the box and unleashes a powerful half-volley. Too close to Courtois though, who punches it wide for a corner.
23'
Liverpool have a free kick in a decent crossing position but the delivery is poor. The Reds are unable to create anything with it and are forced back to the halfway line.
20'
Chelsea are beginning to take charge of this tie now and are really bringing the game to Liverpool. They are moving the ball around quicker, but will still have to be wary of the threat posed by the likes of Salah on the break.
18'
A Chelsea attack is broken up by an interception on the edge of the box and suddenly Liverpool can counter. Mane races forward with the ball with Salah busting a lung to get in support, but Kante slides in with an excellent tackle to clear the danger. Brilliant stuff by French international.
16'
SHOT! Alonso finds himself with space outside the Liverpool box but his drilled effort is straight into the arms of Karius. Better from the home side though.
14'
CHANCE! A loose ball looks to be lost but Moses chases it to the byline. He gets there in time and pulls a low pass back towards the penalty area, where a lack of communication between Giroud and Bakayoko sees the midfielder miss the ball completely with his shot. Giroud comes out and tries an effort himself but it is easily blocked by a Liverpool defender.
12'
It has very much been a midfield battle in these opening 10 minutes or so. Chelsea are sitting deep and not giving the Liverpool forwards any space in the final third. They are content to let Liverpool have the ball and try and play on the counter attack.
9'
Ouch! Hazard is down after a heavy challenge by Milner. There was no malicious intent from the England midfielder though, who just receives a warning from the referee.
7'
Liverpool finally carve open some space for themselves with some neat one-touch passing on the right wing. The cross by Mane is well overhit though, straight out of play for a throw.
4'
It was a good run by Firmino but it was always going to take something special to beat Courtois at such a narrow angle. Liverpool are enjoying plenty of possession early on here though. Chelsea are content to just snuff out the space in the defensive half.
3'
SHOT! Liverpool work the ball around the midfield with no real penetration, so Alexander-Arnold opts to try a more direct approach. His lofted pass finds Firmino in space inside the box, but the Brazilian's first-time half-volley from a tight angle is comfortably saved by Courtois.

We're underway! Liverpool kick off.
Good afternoon and welcome to our live coverage of today’s Premier League game between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.
Putting themselves back in contention for a Champions League spot would be a positive end to the season after what has been a turbulent campaign for Antonio Conte’s side, and they could still round it off with a trophy when they face Manchester United in the FA Cup final in two weeks’ time.
STAT: Chelsea are winless in their last six Premier League meetings with Liverpool (D3 L3). They last had a longer winless run against them in the top-flight between 1985 and 1990 (10 games).
Liverpool’s season has been in stark contrast to Chelsea’s, with their aggregate semi-final victory over Roma giving the Reds a first Champions League final appearance since 2007 , when they were beaten 2-1 by AC Milan. They will face Real Madrid in this season’s final but first they have a top-four Premier League finish to secure.
A draw against Chelsea would be enough to secure a Champions League spot for Liverpool but Klopp’s attacking approach will certainly make sure they gun for all three at Stamford Bridge. The Reds are the second highest scorers in the league with 80 goals, with Mohamed Salah scoring 31 of those. Only runaway champions Manchester City have scored more than them.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this afternoon…
Chelsea XI (3-5-1-1): Thibaut Courtois; Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill, Antonio Rudiger; Victor Moses, Cesc Fabregas, N’Golo Kante, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Marcos Alonso; Eden Hazard; Olivier Giroud.
Chelsea substitutes: Willy Caballero, Ross Barkley, Pedro, Davide Zappacosta, Willian, Andreas Christensen, Emerson.
Liverpool XI (4-3-3): Loris Karius; Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Georginio Wijnaldum, James Milner; Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane.
Liverpool substitutes: Jordan Henderson, Ragnar Klavan, Alberto Moreno, Simon Mignolet, Danny Ings, Dominic Solanke, Ben Woodburn.
Alonso replaces Emerson as Chelsea’s only change from the side that beat Swansea City 1-0 last weekend.
Liverpool make only one change themselves from the side that lost 4-2 in their Champions League semi-final second leg against Roma. Henderson drops to the bench, with Alexander-Arnold taking his place in midfield and Clyne lining up at right-back.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: CHELSEA 1-0 LIVERPOOL.
Tottenham’s defeat to West Brom yesterday has gifted Chelsea the opportunity to revitalize their slim hopes of a top-four finish this season. They face a tough task against an in-form Liverpool, but victory today would see them close the gap on their London rivals to two points, with games against Huddersfield and Newcastle to come.
Chelsea go in at the break with a fully deserved lead. It has been a professional, well-rounded performance by the Blues and they have completely negated the Liverpool attack. The Reds were limited to ranged efforts for the most part which Courtois dealt with comfortably, before Giroud's close range header gave Chelsea the lead. Fabregas came close to doubling their lead shortly after but could only fire wide from a tight angle. More of the same in the second half will see Chelsea move to within two points of fourth-placed Tottenham.
FULL-TIME: CHELSEA 1-0 LIVERPOOL.
Giroud's first-half header was enough to secure a deserved victory for Chelsea and move the Blues to within two points of fourth-placed Tottenham, with two games left to play. Liverpool had the better of the opening 10 minutes but were ultimately second best all over the pitch after that. The Reds struggled to find any way through the Chelsea back line, with Cahill and Kante being particularly impressive defensively. Fabregas and Alonso both came close to doubling Chelsea's lead but in the end, it was a impenetrable defensive display which secured them an important three points going into the final week of the Premier League season.
