V. Lindelöf enters the game and replaces A. Young.
Mourinho is quite clearly shutting up shop, with Victor Lindelof coming on to take the place of Young.
Liverpool are presented with one final chance to push forward, and they win themselves a corner over on the left wing after a cross from Moreno is deflected behind. The set-piece is curled in by Oxlade-Chamberlain and finds Matip, but his contact with the ball isn't great and he can't unleash a decent effort.
90' +1
Oxlade-Chamberlain's cross into the penalty area fails to pick out a team-mate, but it quickly results in another corner for the hosts. This time the former Arsenal man is able to find Lovren, who rises high above Jones but can't keep his headed effort down.
90'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be three minutes of added time.
89'
Oxlade-Chamberlain does well to get himself into a pocket of space deep down the right flank and quickly whips a low cross into the heart of the visitors' box, where United do well to initially deal with the danger before eventually giving away a corner just as the fourth official's board goes up.
88'
A long throw-in is launched by Gomez and looks set to pick out Solanke on the right-hand side of the United penalty area after the substitute manages to get the better of Jones, but the linesman flags for a foul on the defender, much to the annoyance of the home fans.
87'
D. Solanke enters the game and replaces Roberto Firmino.
A. Young gets yellow.
Liverpool have made their third and final switch, with Firmino making way for Dominic Solanke up front.
Young catches Moreno with a slightly late challenge as they battle for the ball deep down the right wing, and he becomes the latest player to be booked as a result.
86'
The game has turned slightly sloppy over the last few minutes, with both sides struggling to enjoy much time on the ball. United are presented with a good opportunity to break forward after winning back possession on the halfway line, but Matic is put under pressure by Henderson and has to work the ball all the way back to De Gea.
84'
Great run by Can! The German injects a sense of pace and urgency into his side as he bursts through the middle of the pitch and into the left-hand side of the box. He then knocks a low pass over towards the far post, where Sturridge tries to latch onto the ball but is beaten to it by De Gea.
82'
Sturridge is caught by a clumsy challenge from Matic, presenting Liverpool with a great opportunity to fire a dangerous free-kick into the visitors' penalty area. The cross is whipped in by Moreno and finds Sturridge, who gets a head on the ball but can only send it well wide of the goal.
80'
Oxlade-Chamberlain immediately gets involved in the thick of the action as he storms down the right wing on a wonderful run. He beats Darmian and Matic before whipping a cross into the box, where Sturridge tries to latch onto the ball but loses out to Smalling.

D. Sturridge enters the game and replaces Philippe Coutinho.
And the second is Daniel Sturridge, with Coutinho making way.
78'
A. Oxlade-Chamberlain enters the game and replaces Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool have made a double substitution as they try to find a late goal. The first player to come on is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who takes the place of Salah.
77'
United are able to push forward on a rare foray into the Liverpool half of the pitch after winning back possession, but they're unable to find any joy down the right wing and the home side can easily deal with the attempted attacking move.
76'
Salah plays a clever low cross into the heart of the United penalty area and towards Coutinho, who tries to latch onto the ball in front of goal but is beaten to it by Smalling. Liverpool quickly regain possession and push forward once again, but Salah brings a promising attacking move to a disappointing end with a wild 25-yard shot.
74'
C. Smalling gets yellow.
With 74 minutes on the clock, the first yellow card of the game has finally been shown. It's gone to Smalling, who cynically fouled Coutinho as the Brazilian tried to break forward quickly.
72'
Smalling is wrestled to the ground by Firmino, resulting in a free-kick for United just inside the hosts' half of the pitch. The set-piece is fired into the box and towards Matic, but Can is easily able to out-muscle the midfielder and make sure the ball bounces behind for a goal-kick.
70'
Almost a great chance for Salah to score! Firmino makes another clever run into the United penalty area and latches onto a lovely pass from Henderson. The Brazilian lifts a cross over to the far post and towards Salah, who rises high but can't quite reach the ball in front of goal.
68'
A clever pass from Gomez flies into the left-hand side of the visitors' penalty area and does well to pick out Firmino. The Brazilian then quickly fizzes a pass across the face of goal, but there's nobody there to meet it and De Gea is easily able to dive on the ball.
66'
Darmian doesn't stick close enough to Salah, allowing the Egyptian to peel away from the full-back just outside of the United box. He then spins and shoots, but his curling effort is poorly hit and fails to cause any problems for De Gea.
65'
M. Rashford enters the game and replaces A. Martial.
And now United have made their second alteration, with Martial making way for Marcus Rashford.
64'
More good play by Liverpool sees them win themselves a corner over on the right flank, but this time Coutinho's cross into the penalty area is sent looping up into the air and makes life easy for the visitors.
63'
J. Lingard enters the game and replaces H. Mkhitaryan.
Jose Mourinho clearly isn't happy with what he's seen from his side so far, so he's decided to make United's first substitution of the game. It's Jesse Lingard who comes on to replace Mkhitaryan.
62'
Coutinho goes down just inside the penalty area, but nothing is given! The Brazilian, who has started the second half brilliantly, twists and turns on the edge of the box before going down under a tackle from Herrera. A few Liverpool players and almost all of the home fans appeal for a penalty, but the referee doesn't agree and allows play to go on.
61'
Salah sprints into the right-hand side of the United box on a great run and forces Matteo Darmian into poking the ball behind for a corner. Coutinho's cross is whipped towards the near post, but this time it's Lukaku who's able to clear the danger with a strong header.
59'
After a disappointing start to the second half, United are starting to settle down now as they enjoy a decent spell of possession. Still, it's Liverpool who look the most dangerous and are causing plenty of problems when breaking forward at speed.
57'
What an opportunity for Can! A mix-up between Herrera and Chris Smalling sends the ball looping out of play for a Liverpool throw-in over on the left wing. It's worked over to the opposite flank and sets up Gomez to curl a beautiful cross into the middle of the penalty area, where Can latches onto the ball but sends his first-time strike just over the top of the crossbar.
55'
Coutinho causes problems for the visitors once again and this time manages to get a shot away of his own. It deflects off Jones and into the path of Wijnaldum, who quickly shoots from inside the box but can't keep his volleyed effort down.
53'
Almost another great chance for Firmino! Coutinho picks up the ball just inside the United half of the pitch and immediately flies forward on a brilliant run. He then pokes a lovely pass into the penalty area and towards Firmino, who quickly shoots but is flagged offside as soon as De Gea saves his effort.
51'
Liverpool quickly push forward once again and win themselves a free-kick for a clumsy challenge by Young. The free-kick is slightly overhit by Salah but manages to find Firmino, who eventually gets a shot away but can't guide it through the sea of defenders camped in front of him.
49'
Firmino makes a nuisance of himself over on the left before getting a shot away, and it's a strike that deflects into the side-netting for a corner. Salah steps up and unleashes a curling cross, but it smashes straight into Young and out for a throw-in.
47'
Almost an early chance for Liverpool! The ball pinballs around the United penalty area dangerously before falling to Firmino, who manages to get a shot from close range that almost deflects into the path of Coutinho but is just about gathered by De Gea before the linesman's flag is eventually raised for offside.
46'
We're underway once again!
45' +1
Henderson spots a good run forward from Moreno and tries to pick out the Spaniard with a chipped pass into the left-hand side of the visitors' box, but it's slightly overhit and the full-back can't quite keep the ball from bouncing behind for a goal-kick.
45'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be just one minute of added time.
44'
There's a brief break in play after Lovren seems to get struck on the side of the face by Lukaku's boot after going to ground. The Liverpool defender seems to be claiming that the Belgian did it on purpose, but it's difficult to tell whether or not he intended to do so from the replays.
43'
Great save by Simon Mignolet! Wonderful, quick passing just outside of the Liverpool penalty area sets up Lukaku to get his first shot away this afternoon, but his international team-mate is there to smother the effort with an excellent stop.
42'
Coutinho showcases beautiful footwork as he beats both Herrera and Young on his way into the left-hand side of the visitors' box. He then tries to tee up a team-mate with a fizzing pass across the face of goal, but it's sent slightly too near to De Gea and the goalkeeper is easily able to deal with the danger.
41'
A quick cross from Firmino manages to pick out Salah in a pocket of space on the edge of the United penalty area. The Egyptian is quickly closed down but manages to get a shot away, and it's an effort on goal that is comfortably saved by De Gea in the middle of the goal.
40'
United push forward once again and do well to win themselves a corner over on the right flank. Once again it's Young who swings a cross in towards the near post, but it's underhit by the winger and makes life easy for the home side.
38'
Martial is clipped from behind by Salah as he cuts inside from the left, resulting in a free-kick for United in an advantageous position. It's sent short and worked up towards the edge of the Liverpool box, where Lovren is easily able to cut out the danger.
37'
Ouch! Lukaku looks incredibly frustrated, and he ends up lashing out at Gomez with a late challenge that sends the full-back crashing to the ground. The Liverpool fans all scream for a booking, but the referee just gives the striker a stern talking to instead.
36'
A wonderfully placed pass from Coutinho penetrates the United penalty area and manages to pick out Moreno, who is in a great position on the byline but ends up sending his first-time cross over everybody camped in front of goal.
34'
Two great opportunities for Liverpool! A curling corner in from the right flank fails to result in a chance on goal, but the home side immediately push forward once again. Firmino picks up the ball inside the left-hand side of the box and quickly sets up Matip, who shoots from close range but has his first-time effort well saved by De Gea. Jones then scuffs an attempted clearance into the feet of Salah, who spins and unleashes a low strike that rolls just wide of the far post.
33'
It's been a tough opening half an hour for Lukaku, who is often finding himself isolated inside the final third of the pitch. A misplaced pass from Moreno can only find the Belgian and gives him a good opportunity to counter-attack, but he's immediately closed down by a group of red shirts and quickly loses the ball.
32'
A poor attempted clearance from Coutinho can only find Mkhitaryan, who quickly shoots but sees his first-time strike deflect over to the left wing. Matic then tries to find a way past Gomez as he tries to cross, but he's unable to do so and it's the youngster who comes out on top.
30'
Thumping strike by Nemanja Matic! Young sprints down the right flank and easily gets the better of Moreno before whipping a dangerous cross in from the byline. It isn't fully dealt with by the home side and is cleared only as far as Matic, who quickly unleashes a rocket of a half-volley that flies just a yard or two over the crossbar.
28'
Wijnaldum and Firmino link up nicely deep down the right wing, setting up the latter to fire a low cross into the middle of the United box. Emre Can tries to latch onto the ball in front of goal, but the visitors have plenty of bodies back to deal with the danger.
26'
Lukaku and Young link up well over on the right flank as United try to counter-attack swiftly once again. Mkhitaryan receives the ball from the full-back and then tries to poke a through-ball back to him inside the penalty area, but the Englishman is blocked off by Lovren before he can reach it. The United man screams for a free-kick, but the referee isn't at all interested and waves play on.
24'
Another Liverpool attacking move fails to come to anything, allowing United to counter-attack. Romelu Lukaku holds up the ball deep down the right wing before skipping past Lovren and crossing, but there's far too much power behind his pass into the box and it sails out of play for a throw-in.
22'
Martial, who has struggled to see much of the ball in advanced areas, cuts inside from the left wing on a good run before being clumsily tripped over by Matip, resulting in a free-kick for United in a promising position. Young steps up and whips a cross into the penalty area, and it's a poorly hit one that Salah easily deals with.
20'
Almost an excellent chance for Salah to score! A looping cross from Moreno isn't fully dealt with by Jones, allowing the ball to bounce over to Firmino on the right-hand side of the penalty area. The Brazilian quickly knocks another cross back towards the near post, where Salah sticks out a foot but can't quite make contact with the ball.
19'
Salah causes all sorts of problems for the United midfielders as he weaves his way through the centre of the pitch on a brilliant run. He gets the better of three players before setting up Coutinho on the edge of the box, where the Brazilian tries to find a way past Valencia but can't get the better of the Ecuadorian once again.
18'
Firmino manages to get the better of his marker over on the right channel and manages to chip a deft cross into the heart of the penalty area. Coutinho tries to latch onto the ball ahead of Valencia, but it's the full-back who comes out on top with a headed clearance.
16'
Good play by Firmino allows the Brazilian to set up Joe Gomez with a clever pass into the right-hand side of the box. The full-back runs onto the ball and tries to fizz a pass across the face of goal, but Anthony Martial sticks to him well and manages to quickly win back possession for United.
14'
Lovely footwork from Salah sees him spin round two players before sprinting towards the United penalty area. He then sets up Wijnaldum to cut onto his left foot and shoot, but the Dutchman's effort is sent too near to De Gea and is comfortably saved by the goalkeeper.
12'
Matip charges forward again on another marauding run before trying to tee up Mohamed Salah inside the visitors' box, but his pass is slightly underhit and Jones is able to get to the ball ahead of the Egyptian.
10'
Joel Matip finds himself with the ball at his feet on the edge of the United penalty area and does well to get a shot away, but there's far too much power behind the centre-back's effort and he ends up sending it high over the top of the crossbar.
9'
Ashley Young manages to find plenty of space deep down the right flank, allowing him to latch onto a pass from Ander Herrera before swinging a cross into the penalty area. It's well hit by the winger, but Dejan Lovren is there to get a head on the ball before Moreno fully clears the danger.
7'
Early chance for Wijnaldum! The Dutchman makes a great run through the middle of the pitch as he manages to carve out a pocket of space for himself. He heads towards the box and tees up Roberto Firmino, who gets the better of Jones and crosses back to Wijnaldum, but the midfielder can't make enough contact with the ball and sends a tame shot trickling into the hands of De Gea.
6'
Wijnaldum makes a clever run into the right-hand side of the United penalty area as he tries to latch onto a quick through-ball from Jordan Henderson, but Phil Jones reads the danger well and is there to get a foot on the ball at the vital moment.
4'
Liverpool patiently work the ball around inside the visitors' half of the pitch before Alberto Moreno eventually tries to set up Philippe Coutinho with a poked pass down the left flank, but Antonio Valencia is there to comfortably knock the ball back to David De Gea to clear.
2'
A good start to the game by United sees them win themselves an early corner over on the right wing. Henrikh Mkhitaryan steps up and curls a cross towards the near post, where Georginio Wijnaldum clears the ball behind for another corner that the Dutchman meets once again.

We're off! Liverpool get us underway, attacking from right to left.
Good afternoon and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s Premier League game between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield.
After storming to the upper echelons of the league table thanks to six wins from seven games, today’s huge clash represents United’s first real test of the season, and it couldn’t have come against a more fierce opponent. With Manchester City, who are in action against Stoke City later, sitting just one goal ahead at the top, another win here is imperative if Jose Mourinho’s men are to continue setting the early pace in such an impressive manner.
In contrast to last season, United have been dazzling up front and scoring goals for fun, with their 21 successful strikes second only to City and already eight more than their opponents today. Mourinho may opt for a slightly safer approach to this game due to the threat posed by Liverpool’s front line, but his side nonetheless look much better equipped for the challenge than they were when they last met here almost exactly a year ago.
While it hasn’t been a disastrous start to the season for Liverpool, it hasn’t been entirely plain-sailing either, and a disappointing September has left them with just one victory from their last seven games across all competitions. As a result, they head into this afternoon’s big test in seventh place, already seven points behind United and in desperate need of a win if they’re to avoid falling too far behind the early pace setters.
Liverpool currently boast the fourth-best scoring record in the Premier League this season, but they’ve also continued shipping goals at an alarming rate. Only West Ham United and Crystal Palace have conceded more so far, leaving the Reds’ under-pressure back line with plenty to do this afternoon if they’re to keep at bay the ever-hungry Romelu Lukaku, who already has seven league goals to his name.
The last three meetings between the two sides have ended in pretty nervy draws, with last season’s corresponding fixture seeing United shutting up shop to come away with a well-earned - but not very entertaining - point. It’s now over three and a half years since Liverpool last beat their rivals in a league game, although they did enjoy a 2-0 win here in the Europa League back in March 2016.
There’s just under 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this this afternoon…
Liverpool substitutes: Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Klavan, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Solanke, Sturridge.
Liverpool XI (4-3-3): Mignolet; Gomez, Matip, Lovren, Moreno; Wijnaldum, Henderson, Can; Salah, Firmino, Coutinho.
Manchester United substitutes: Romero, Tuanzebe, Lindelof, Blind, Lingard, Mata, Rashford.
Manchester United XI (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Valencia, Smalling, Jones, Darmian; Herrera, Matic; Young, Mkhitaryan, Martial; Lukaku.
Jurgen Klopp has decided to make two changes to the Liverpool side that started the draw against Newcastle United just before the international break, with Emre Can and Roberto Firmino coming into the starting line-up to replace Daniel Sturridge and the injured Sadio Mane.
Meanwhile, United boss Jose Mourinho has made three alterations to the team that featured in their last outing, with Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford making way for Matteo Darmian, Ander Herrera and Anthony Martial, respectively.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off. The atmosphere inside the stadium is electric, with both sets of fans in fine voice.
HALF-TIME: LIVERPOOL 0-0 MANCHESTER UNITED
It's been an evenly fought and entertaining game so far, with Liverpool seeing the majority of the ball but struggling to break down a compact United defence. They went closest to opening the scoring when Matip was presented with an excellent close-range opportunity, but De Gea pulled off a spectular save to deny the centre-back the game's first goal. United have struggled to cause similar problems for Mignolet, with Lukaku looking increasingly frustrated as he finds it tough to get into the game.
The two teams are making their way back out on to the pitch ahead of the start of the second half. Neither side have made any substitutions during the half-time break.
FULL-TIME: LIVERPOOL 0-0 MANCHESTER UNITED
Mourinho will be the happier of the two managers with that draw, as it's one that temporarily moves his side to the top of the table. United clearly came to Anfield set up to soak up pressure and hit their opponents on the counter-attack, but an off day for their forwards meant they spent most of the game sitting deep and defending in numbers.
Liverpool enjoyed the majority of possession and caused a few problems for United in front of goal, but, in the end, they couldn't quite come away with the victory they so desperately craved. Matip went closest to opening the scoring with an excellent close-range strike, but, as is often the case, De Gea saved the Red Devils with a brilliant stop to deny the defender.
